AWS Architect

Description:

The AWS Architect will architect, develop, and maintain the client's cloud environment in both commercial and government AWS clouds. The role involves working closely with software engineers, architects, and DevOps engineers to maintain a secure, resilient, and high-performance cloud infrastructure. Essential functions include building, maintaining, and operating IaaS and PaaS infrastructure in AWS; selecting appropriate AWS services based on requirements; identifying architectural best practices; working with development teams to set and measure SLOs, SLAs, and SLIs; contributing to platform services development, integration with logging and monitoring, and building and administering systems and tools for application observability. The role also involves assisting with root cause analysis by automating, self-healing, and real-time monitoring, maintaining and improving operational tooling, building frameworks for performance testing, automating alerts, and championing automation of manual processes.

Requirements:

SRE; strong knowledge of AWS services (VPC, EC2, S3, ECS, CloudFormation, Lambda, EKS, RDS, ELB, Route53, RedShift, Chime, Connect); expert knowledge in encryption (KMS), PKI, OWASP; experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, VPC Flow Logs, Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus); familiarity with source control and IDEs (Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab). Preferences include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in relevant fields; expert knowledge in deploying production-grade AWS applications; passion for infrastructure automation; and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Hands-on production experience in Kubernetes (EKS or AKS) cluster setup and management; experience with IaC tools such as Terraform; proficiency with Kubernetes deployment tools (Helm, ArgoCD, Flux); strong awareness of networking and internet protocols; understanding of IAM; experience supporting production cloud environments and adherence to compliance standards (FedRAMP, NIST 800-171). 3+ years of experience as a cloud architect designing and deploying scalable, highly available, and fault tolerant systems on AWS; 8+ years as a cloud engineer.
