Job Description

The Fundraising Manager will coordinate all fundraising activities for the agency. The position will develop an annual fund development plan and provide project oversight for all agency fundraising activities, including appeals, events, and the annual Christmas collection. This position will work closely with the Communication Manager in executing both the Communication and Development Plans in implementing fundraising vehicles.

Responsibilities

Develops, implements, and evaluates all fundraising strategies, addressing the goals of the strategic plan and maximizing impact:

  • Coordinates all fundraising appeals, crafting compelling messages, and choosing appropriate fundraising methods.
  • Develop and manage planned giving programs, including targeting prospects for estate planning, endowments, and investment holdings.
  • Coordinates the research of potential private sources of funding, such as grants and foundation support, as well as major/special gifts.
  • Train and lead other staff to support fundraising and marketing efforts
  • Help in the preparation and submittal of grant applications to generate funds.
  • Collaborate with communications and other departments to ensure a coordinated approach to fundraising and outreach efforts.

Identifies, establishes, and nurtures relationships with individual donors, parishes, and community funding organizations:

  • Communicates with past, present, and potential donors in a multitude of ways (including in person, via phone, and written correspondence) utilizing a gift and donor tracking and immediate acknowledgement system
  • Build relationships with community stakeholders to advance the mission and fundraising goals of the organization
  • Directs the cultivation of prospective private and corporate sector donors to foster long-term partnerships and secure ongoing support.
  • Identifies and secures funding sources, researching potential funding sources, and soliciting donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Solicits local service clubs, foundations, and businesses for corporate sponsorships and gifts

Plans and coordinates all fundraising events to increase awareness of the organization’s mission and programs:

  • Responsible for planning and executing fundraising events to generate awareness and raise funds.
  • Help facilitate sponsorship development and procurement
  • Work to increase public awareness of the organization’s mission, programs, and needs to attract more donors and supporters.

Tracking And Reporting On Fundraising Performance

  • Prepare regular reports on progress, budgets, receipts, and expenditures related to fundraising and the management of the fund development activities.

Supervise the Fundraising team and participate in the Advancement team meetings:

  • Conduct annual performance evaluation according to the agency guidelines and set goals for individual and team performance
  • Provide close oversight and supervision of staff, including scheduling, designation of responsibilities, providing feedback, developing growth plans, and documenting performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting or performing other work requiring low physical exertion, as well as keyboard fingering, talking, hearing, and adequate vision on a regular basis to perform the job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 90% of the time.

Education

Non-Physical Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Development, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field

Experience

  • Five or more years’ experience in development or fundraising with a proven track record of increasing donations
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences
  • Experience in a leadership role within a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience with measurement and analytics tools to assess fundraising effectiveness

Special Skills

  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Engaging the community and representing the agency in a professional manner
  • Passion and investment in the Catholic Charities Serving Central Washington Mission
  • Bilingual/Biliterate (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required

Licensure, Registration, Certification

  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and minimum required liability insurance for WA State
  • Must be deemed insurable as determined by the Catholic Charities liability insurance provider

Employment is conditional upon

  • Being cleared by a criminal background check and fingerprinting when required

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm

Wage Range: $36.06 - $39.44 per hour, depending on experience
