Job Description:

• MICA is searching for personnel that has Underground Utility experience.
• Class A CDL, tanker endorsement a HUGE plus.
• Must have Manual Truck Endorsement (Not Restricted).
• MUST HAVE A VALID TEXAS DRIVERS LICENSE.
• Some experience operating a backhoe, mini excavator, Vactron, trencher.
• Electrical, fiber, or traffic signal conduit installation.
• Must be local to Austin area.

Position Purpose: To transport materials and/or equipment to jobsites and work as a laborer within a crew on highway construction projects.

Essential Functions:

• Haul, operate, load, and unload construction equipment.
• Inspect truck for defects and safe operating conditions before, during, and after trips.
• Operate hand and power tools of all types.
• Dig trenches, backfill holes, or compact earth to prepare for construction.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Hold and maintain a valid Class A Texas commercial driver’s license.
• Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record check with minimal infractions.
• Willing and able to pass a physical, drug, and alcohol screening.
• Must be able to travel and work overtime, weekends, and nights as needed.
• Must meet the classification requirements within six months of hire.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

• Work is performed outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
• Work includes heavy lifting (typically up to 50-100 lbs.)
• Exposure to noise, fumes, vibrations, and heights.
• Exposure to prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, crawling, and climbing.
