Job Title: Senior Developer    
Location: Palo Alto, CA

Purpose and Objective:  
SAP Labs, LLC seeks a Senior Developer at our Palo Alto, CA location responsible for development focusing on design, coding, testing, and quality assurance of specific SAP product features in a development team. 

Expectations and Tasks: 
Resolves complex issues within own area of expertise and supports others in resolving issues. Analyze and solve issues in existing and new code. Provide application implementation services typically within the boundaries of specifications and project plans. Design activities include requirements analysis and design documentation. Implementation activities include implementation, testing, and integration. Maintenance activities include error analysis and removal. Extend, modify or adapt existing designs but may also be involved in the development of new (sub-) systems. If acting as Team Lead the LEAN context, responsible for working with Scrum Master in promoting and supporting Scrum by helping everyone understand Scrum tasks, practices, rules, and values. Serve as 'servant-leader' for the Product Owner, Scrum Master and the Development Team. Facilitate Scrum Events on request or as required. Coach the Development Team in self-organization. Remove technical impediments to the Development Team's progress.  

Education and Occupational Experience: 
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field of study and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:

Experience must involve three (3) years in the following: 
•    JavaScript, Java, and Python;
•    REST API and Web API development using Java/J2EE and RDBMS; and 
•    Frontend / UI development using HTML, CSS and Javascript.
Experience must involve one (1) year in the following: 

•    Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Cloud Security; and
•    Secure Design Principles, Applied Cryptography, Security testing.

Compensation Range Transparency: The annual base salary range for this position is $124,696 - $211,992. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $141,700 - $240,900. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process.
