We are seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant who will provide health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of Physician by performing the following duties: **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** : + Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and complies patient medical data including health history and results of physical examination. + Under the direction of the physician, conduct patient assessments, order, or directly provide treatments, and provide patient education and support. + Provides pre-op and post-op assessment, including treatment plans, follow up care and discharges of patients. + Surgical First assist on cases - experience in suture skills, knowledge of anatomy of all cases, knowledge of latest surgical techniques and ability to contribute intelligent input into the surgical procedures. + Work under protocol to develop an effective, safe, and patient-centered treatment plan + Provide timely and complete clinical documentation in the EHR following patient visits or telephone calls. + Maintain ongoing communication with the physician regarding assigned patients and provide timely notification of changes in patient status. + Attend case conferences, clinical rounds, and other types of meetings which address patient management and care coordination. + Maintain ongoing communication with other members of the care team through written documentation, telephone or in-person conversation. + Partner with the patient to develop contracts of care as needed and provide encouragement and motivational support to promote adherence to treatment plans. + Ensure timely access of patient appointments. + Surgical PA will work in multiple locations including our Ventana Outpatient Clinic in Tarzana (Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays), Westchester/LAX ½ day Clinic & ½ day Surgery (Thursdays) and all day in the Operating Room on Fridays. ****There are no calls, hospital rounding or weekends in this role** **Qualifications** **Educational Requirements:** + Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant studies **License/Certification requirements:** + National Certification as a Physician Assistant + BLS and ACLS Certification required + Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) certification required **Experience:** + Minimum one (1) year Physician Assistant experience in a relevant clinical area strongly preferred, e.g., orthopedics or sports medicine, general surgery, reconstructive surgery, or other surgical specialties. + Travel to Tarzana & Los Angeles is required. **Req ID** : 10566 **Working Title** : Surgical Physician Assistant - General Sports Medicine (ages 7+, teens and adults) - Tarzana & Los Angeles - Kerlan-Jobe Institute - **Department** : CMCF 1115062 SMOG - Dr Scott **Business Entity** : Cedars-Sinai Medical Care Foundation **Job Category** : Clinical Operations **Job Specialty** : Advanced Practice (PA) **Overtime Status** : EXEMPT **Primary Shift** : Day **Shift Duration** : 8 hour **Base Pay** : $69.65 - $111.44 Cedars-Sinai is an EEO employer.
